I have decided that we are doing the NZ farms and gardens a big favour with our travels. Wherever we go, we bring the rain. We arrive in a new spot, bringing rain. You just don't expect to see cattle way up there in the hills. How do they manage to not fall? I didn't think they were the most sure-footed of hoofed animals.

There is a penguin colony at Oamaru that we visited, but it was too early for them to come in for their evening feeding.

The view from the penguin viewing blind was pretty good even without the penguins. We did see some porpoises however. A big pod of them.

Something you don't see too often in downtown Toronto. Pat retrieved a paua shell from the beach that I spotted down a big slope.
