got up packed our gear and decided to go into auckland for the day as a ferry went from half moon bay into the heart of aukland and half moon bay was close to buckland beach where we were staying.
it was a cracking 35 minute journey into auckland and everything was a hive of activity,there were yachts and ships everywhere, we had caught the 9.15 boat so had breakfast went we got off, i managed to have poached egg on toast 4 times due to language problems and afterwards headed up to the skytower where my head for heights was to be severly tested.
we passed a load of moaris waiting outside a building though it must have been their meeting place but turned out to be the courthouse, we went to to top of the tower and it was very scary, they had glass plates on the floor that you could walk across that as you looked down you looked all the way to the ground.
its all very well them telling you that the glass is stronger that concrete but that goes in your mind but your arsehole stops communicating with your brain and decides to tell your
feet not to move, very strange feeling, i did stand on it as you can see but i had the strangest feelings in my feet, rose was lucky her brain and bottle were well geared, they both refused to walk across, even the floor of the elevator had a glass floor but that didnt seem to affect me as much,
we got the 1.15 back and booked into our place and was a shame we could only have one night there as it was lovely, right on the water and a really nice pool etc, we had a few hours on the beach and a nice dinner in a waterside restaurant and had a bottle of cloudy bay when we got back so all in all a cracking day.
we have a 4.50pm flight to santiago tom so no rush in the morning-
