11th - 13th December 2008 Miranda

Miranda is known as the 'seabird coast'. We stayed on a lovely site which had a very swanky hotpool/swimming pool of it's own. We walked along the coast to a birdhide to watch the seabirds close up - the numbers were huge, and we were lucky to see wrybill, which was a bird we hoped to see there.

We made a special friend, Jemima the duck, on site. She seemed poorly so we fed her bread and gave her some fresh water - I have never seen a duck drink so much, bless her. She must have been sick of all the thermal water around there. She perked back up and hung around us for the rest of our stay.
