Last night we went out to a backpackers bar for a Quiz night. We ended up meeting some guys and one girl who were planing on doing the tongariro crossing also so we made plans to all go together to save the $50 it cost for the bus and just take our cars. One of the guys was english, the other was german, and the girl was from Holland. I told them all that the weather was going to be crappy but coming from Canada I guess I don't know how the weather is going to be!!! We got there around 8 30 and it was not really warm but it was foggy and not to nice. About an hour into the 8 hour walk it turned really foggy and we couldn't see anything. We kept going even tho it was white out conditions and couldn't see any of the beautiful sceanery. Most of the pictures are of nothing but apparently there is some nice sceanery if we could see anythng. At the top the wind was blowing so hard that we were almost blown off the path and down the mountain. Canadians don't know the waether I kept saying. haha
