Day 72

The start of the early mornings began and so we boarded the Magic Bus and headed to Mount Eden where we had amazing views over the entire city! Nect stop was Hobbiton, the film set for the next Lord of the Rings movies 'The Hobbit'! The rolling hills were really pretty and we even got to hold and play with baby lambs which were soooo cute!! Back on board we travelled down to Rotorua, a town with lots of geothermal activity and as a result a rather unpleasant smell of rotton eggs! But we weren't put off and walked through the park to look at all the bubbling mud pools and steaming rocks! In the evening we had our first Mauri experience which after a hilarious bus ride took us to a Mauri village camp where we watched the tribe perform the haka and other songs before enjoying a massive feast of Mauri treats! The bus journey back into town was even more ridiculous as the bus driver played 'The Wheels on the Bus' taking us around a round-a-bout at least 10 times! Crazy kiwis!!
