Woke up to another rainy day. Went out and ran a few errands before coming back to the hostel and watching a bit of tv with Jodie, one of the south african girls. Got ready for the game and met up with everyone down in the bar for a few drinks. They also had a free "sausage sizzle" as they call it for us.
Our bus left around 2:30 pm and I sat on the bus with another Canadian girl. This is only like my second canadian on this trip, strange!!! We had some fun on the bus ride down and played bus rugby which was nuts. We stopped at a grocery store in Hamilton and had some pizza that we had pre-ordered brought to us and then me and Jenna (canadian girl) shared a bottle of $8 wine which was really good. We all walked over to the stadium after that. We had general admission tickets so we had to stand at the one end on like a grassy hill but it was cool. We were really close to the pitch.
The players from both sides were out on the field doing warm ups and stuff when we
got there. Man, rugby guys are hot!! They have some pretty amazing bodies!!! They did a pre-game interpretive dance thing which i'm not really sure about haha. It was quite strange. But they did this big fireworks show with this huge fireball at the end that was so crazy.
Both national anthems then were sung which was cool to hear. Then the All blacks lined up against the south africans and did the traditional Haka. It was soo cool to see it live! The only bad part was that we saw it from the back but could see their faces up on the big screen. I took a video of it but not sure how well it really shows it.
The first half of the game was dominated by the South Africans. But the second half the All Blacks made a comeback and almost tied it up at the end. It was crazy exciting. I got really into it even though I didn't really understand all the rules but it was fun to see a real game. I yelled a lot haha which made me feel like I was back watching the Flames play haha.
After the
game we all made it back to the bus. I hung out with Nathan (the Stray bus rep) for most of the ride home. Oh ya, stray offered to take us all down to Hamilton in one of their buses for free!) It's about a 2 hour drive from Auckland so we made it back to Auckland around 12:30 or 1am. Not sure. Went into the fat camel bar for a few more drinks and met up with Petra, a german girl from my floor. Stayed there until about 2 am when I tried to go to bed but I was too wound up to sleep.
Was finally just falling asleep when the fire alarm goes off at 5:30am. Awesome. So, most of us head downstairs to see 3 firetrucks haha. But there was no emergency and we all went back to bed.
You will have to wait for pictures because the internet is too slow here!!!!

Are you a drunk?
Did you even watch the game? Too busy drinking? Rugby is great sport to watch live.
