Today we have driven north from Taranga to Matarangi, in the north

end of the coromandel. We stopped at "Hot Water Beach".

Either side of low tide you can dig your own spa pool as water from

hot springs seeps up through the sand. From there we hiked 1 1/2

hours RT to Cathedral Cove. A pretty hard treck.Cathedral Cove is

a large sea arch that the tide fills in at high tide. We are staying a few nights

at Mark and Diane Bedfords beach house at Matarangi on the Pacific Ocean.

A 100 degree beach!
That sounds pretty good this time of year. We have 23 degrees here and snow flurries this morning in Wisconsin. Must be a volcano near by?
