Hey! So we took our first Kiwi Experience bus yesterday (Thursday). Had to be up really early to get the bus at 7 so pretty much slept on the bus all the way up because Amie and myself had been to see the preview of New Moon at midnight, so missed a lot of the beautiful countryside but it's cool cause this was just a straight up bus, not really stopping off to see anything anyway because they want you to get up to the bay of islands cause it's so beautiful. Which it is really, it's this big bay with 144 islands in it, you can't see them all from Paihia (Pie-hee-a) but you can take a number of different boat cruises.
Our hostle is cheaper here but theres not a lot too it, just your bed and thats it. They are en-suit rooms with a little sink and fridge bit but you can really hang out in the rooms. It would be good to get a place but it seems we have got here a bit early to find jobs. We took the ferry across the bay this morning to Russell but it's a bit smaller than Paihia.
We went job hunting seperately but the other 3 didn't get much luck. However, I've been offered a trail at a Thia restaurant owned by a guy called Charlie and his Thai wife. Got a trail on Sunday, just going to get the ferry across for it but not sure if I'm gonna stick at it. At first I was worried that I'd have a job in Russell and the others would get a job in Paihia but it just seems like I got really lucky because everywhere that we've tried over here don't seem to be hiring people till around the 15th of December or later. So at the moment I think I'm going to do the trial shift and then stick it out for a week see how it goes, see how everyone else gets on and then decide about the job. I don't know if I'd want to be here on my own, very unsure about it at the moment. We handed out a few CV's in Paihia but like I said they aren't hiring for a while. One cafe took my CV as they have a position but its would be part time till mid December
and that's still just a job for me! Stress! I don't like all this up in the air kinda thing, guess that's how it works though.
It does seem like quite a few jobs might become available so I mentioned heading off and doing the 'East As' bit of our Kiwi Experience and then comming back when the jobs seem a bit better up here but I personally want to see how this restaurant job goes first. I could always stay here while the others head off but they aren't neccessarily going to come back. But I suppose I can always move on and catch them up. And anyway, I think I'd make friends here anyway probably but who knows! Anyway, this is the dilema I'm in at the moment, just going to have to see what happens.
It's really beautiful up here though and the weather has been good, getting plenty of sunshine. It's probably only a matter of time till I end up getting burnt.
We have the second part of our Kiwi Experience tour of Northland tomorrow. We are going up to Cape Reinga tomorrow - it's the top of New Zealand and it's
where the Tasmin Sea meets the Pasific Ocean, looks really cool apparently. We also drive along 90 mile beach on the way, it's an actual high way, and we go sandboarding and stop off at a few other points too so it's a pretty full on day but should be good. Up for 7 again thought but going to get an early night this time. New Moon was totally worth feeling tired the next day, very good film!
Anyway, enough for now! Hopefully by my next post I'll know what I'm doing better. Thanks for the messages again, really cheers me up to get them :-) Miss you all!
Lots of Love

Glad to hear that your having fun and doing loads but don't stress out too much! Just go with the flow. Any Restaurant would be silly not to take on! I wish i could just piss off to other side of the world i live a little. Work's a drag without you! x x x x
