Day 6

Dear Blog,

Today I woke up and decided that I was going to go for a bike ride to Huaru Falls about 5k from Paihia. I set off really early and after about half an hour of a fairly hard cycle, made it to the falls which were quite nice, but not exactly Niagra. Watched loads of people skydiving and wondered if I could ever do it. It looks so amazing but don't think i'm ready yet. After the cycle I walked around the treaty grounds where the treaty of Waitangi was signed which basically fleeced the Maori out of all their land. One copy was written in English and one in Maori and they were slightly different!! Makes one feel so proud to be English at times. Anyway after all that culture, felt a bit jaded so went for a sunbathe on the beach and got an ice cream. Lovely. Not going remotely brown yet.
