Arrived in NZ

We made it to NZ!! Our five hour flight to LA strangely felt logner than the 12 hour flight to Auckland. The Air New Zealand flight was not crowded, had plenty of legroom, and personal video screens. I watched Syriana, Matador, and Rumor Has It while Kate snoozed away or occasionally played Soduko. Actually, we both got some sleep, so hopefully our jetlag won't be too bad.

We're now in the Auckland airport and we managed to change our Queenstown (city on the South Island) ticket to an earlier flight, so we're off soon to meet up with Kate's sister Whitney.

The big news of the trip was that Kate successfully negotiated her job offer (at the LA airport) and has accepted a school social worker position in an alternative school in Des Plaines, IL (not too much of a drive from Evanston). So, we're now both employed!
