Auckland, New Zealand, North Island - December 21st - 1:47pm
So it was an early morning for me. I got a lovely wakeup call at 7:16am from the bank…that can never be good. They said that I had to come down and settle my bill. I was under the impression that it was going to get carried over to next cruise as they knew I was doing back to back cruises…was I mistaken. So I get up and dressed, head down to the cinema where Lee is and see where I have to go. He informs me that it’s all taken care of and he just put it on his bar bill…my exact words “So Lee you’re telling me I got up an hour earl for nothing!” Goof ball. Lee then proceeded to tell me that JC received a message last night on the voicemail for Lee but had no idea what the message was…if you’re not sure don’t delete the message, if it’s for someone else make a note. I thought that was pretty simple but apparently it’s not. Stupid JC. Oh well it’s all paid for and that was really my whole plan…get Lee to pay for it all!
Just kiddin.
Since I was up, I figured that I’d move the rest of our stuff down to Lee’s cabin, 3 trip later walking (forward to aft, aft to forward, etc), I was done. I figured I’d go check my emails and wait in the office for Lee to finish dispatch. Well my emails took a whole of 2 seconds, as no one’s emailed me…Mom, Dad have you fallen off the face of the earth??
Lee was done shortly after so we headed out to the pier to meet up with Luc, Anna and Dylan (Tony’s son, who is also a tour operator). Dylan was kind enough to drive us to breakie, where I had a Kiwi Breakfast (eggs, toast, bacon), then up to Mount Eden to take some pictures. But we got side tracked at a Mac Pac (hiking equipment) store which had a great sale on. We all went in to see what there was as Luc needed to get his secret Santa a present. Luc got a little carried away and got a day pack, shirts, pants and his present. But he had to try everything on to make sure it fit. Lee finally had to drag him out of the store; I think Luc likes those kinds of stores. Regardless we still had time to head up the mountain. We got some great pictures on top and headed back to the ship. Anna had to be back at work for 1pm…silly crew.
I decided to head to Lee’s room and wait patiently till Flavio got a hold of him to give us our room keys. Well boat drill came and went and I still didn’t have a room key, so I couldn’t get a life jacket to attend boat drill so I snuck into Lee’s cabin with him and we watched ‘The Apprentice’. I used to participate in boat drills and guide the guests to the life boats. I think I could find my way around!
Lee headed back to work and I did what I do best…nothing!
8:02pm
Well as you can see it’s 8:02pm and we still don’t have a room. I might have to sleep with the dragon tonight (Lee calls JC the dragon because he snores louder then I thought humanly possible). That’s alright, Flavio is extremely busy and I’m alright for now! Ahah. I just went to the show, which was a guy buy the name of Mario D’Andrea, A mixed-up Italian from Australia direct from Las Vegas. He was great, he played a little Neil Diamond, Chuck Berry, and Tom Jones, made his guitar sound like a mandolin and a banjo. He was awesome. He was on last cruise as well but he performed on one of the nights that I went straight to bed.
10:00pm
So Lee showed up at his door after work with keys! Woohoo. We didn’t have a balcony and we were down in the dungeon on deck 2 but we do have a window which is going to be neat. Maybe not so much on sea days, but I’ll keep you posted. We had a good dinner with Tony and Francesca. Tony is hilarious, always has something witty to say. So Lee and I are off to watch Survivor and maybe more Apprentice, we have an early morning tomorrow. Sleep tight everyone.
