Hello!
What happened after Cape Reinga?
We went by car to Kaitaia and didn't actually know quiet good what to do..
So we slept one night in the pirates hostel (very weird) and after having two parking
fines and a lot of phonecalls, we finally found a new WWoof place in ... Piha beach surf club..
which sounded nice! So we tried to get there in one day but it was too far and we were too slow!
So we ended up on mondayevening 17th of december in.. Helensville of all places. We found a hostel
run by two people from holland (both sides pretended not to know how to speak dutch..nice! But the accent..)
Anyhow, it was the greatest hostel uptill now where I stayed in New-Zealand! We even had a SPA-pool and it was
the first night I slept without waking up. Great. So after one night of relative luxuary, we were ready for some more work.
We arrived at Piha Surfclub on wednesday (19th december) and got or own carvavan, and stincky outside, non-flush, toilet!
Pam and Mike (surfboardmaker) seemed at the beginning very strict, but that was just the first moments.. As soon as they
saw our working skills...they loved us, and wanted is to stay longer! Everyday we worked for 3 hours (cleaning, weeding, painting,
washing dishes, collecting sheeppooh!!!), and then we could sleep for free in the caravan. As we were working a the surfshop of
one of the famest surfbeaches in New-Zealand, we had to try surfing! (golfsurfing NOT windsurfing!). It was great, so we did it more
than once! We also did a bush walk to the waterfalls nearby. On Christmas eve it was very hot. We went on the big terras to see
the sunset, we cooked a great meal and a chocolate cake and chocolate milk and.. German lebkuchen aaaand we gave presents to
eachother..Wich made it a real, real christmas eve..
The next day, we had to leave early in the morning..because we were all heading or own way again.
It was hard to say goodbye to Marian and Anna, but I'll meet them back on the South Island!

By the way, I forgot to mention my New-Zealand nr : +64 211 302384
