Auckland - Day 1 & 2

Hello from New Zealand! After the 13 hour flight we arrived safely in Auckland. The flight was not as bad as we anticipated - the in-flight movies were awesome as were the sleeping pills! We landed around 5am on Thursday, March 8th - interesting how Wednesday, March 7th never existed for us. Weird! The first day we took a nap and spent the rest of the day exploring the city center - Albert Park, Parnell, harbor area and the University of Auckland. It sure was a lot of walking compared to sitting behind a desk all day!
On day two we explored Mt. Eden. We again did a lot of walking - hiked up Mt. Eden and over to One Tree Hill. We stumbeled upon Eden Garden which was great - a quiet botanical garden tucked in one of Auckland's neighborhoods. One Tree Hill and the surrounding park was wonderful, as well as the view from Mt. Eden where we watched the sunset. How romantic!
