Off we go!

Boxing Day Wednesday 26th Dec we start on our 9 Month Tour...."ADVENTURE before DEMENTIA"......!

Both full of flu & chesty cough...1st leg of our tour...Coach trip from Northampton to Heathrow.....3 hours in the rain!

Heathrow checked in & had farewell champers with my little Sis Sheilagh & her man Chris...& we're off on our 28 hour journey. Brief 2 hour stop at Hong Kong airport...just enough time for 'Stan the Man'(STM) to share his chesty cough with a few more unsuspecting travellers. Having had 'man flu' for over a month he thought is was best to share!

Friday 28th Dec - Arrive in Auckland...My brother John & his wife Andrea over from Perth for their Xmas Hols pick us up from airport...tired but excited...checked into The Waldorf Serviced Apartment just off Queens Road ...FAB location...5 minute walk down the hill to the Viaduct Harbour....beautiful yachts & sunshine welcome us!

A short drive out of Aukland City to Mission Bay to stretch our legs & blow away the cobwebs from the long flight. Also visit Orewa a small town by the coast. Typical 'Brits Abroad' we are out in the sunshine longer than we should be on Day

One. STM doesn't realise it ...but his hair isn't as thick or hair line as low as it used to be & has a very RED face/ forehead & burnt scalp....hats needed everyday from now on!

'Adventure Before Dementia Tour!' Our travels began on Boxing Day 2012 and we headed off for a 9 month trip around the world - via New Zealand, Australia, Cook Islands and L.A Six months into that trip my beautiful and talented wife was offered a job opportunity in Perth with a visa that would allow us both to live and work in this fantastic City for four years.
