After returning from the village festivaties, we found ourselves alone at Adi's Place. Thema, Adi's daughter, offered us to go night fishing with her cousin Jim (or as they call it night diving). We had a quick meal and then set off. After about 30 minutes walking in the dark we arrived at Jim's Bure. Whilst he prepared everything, we laid in his double hammock, gazing at the stars. It was a very relaxing moment before the scary thought of swimming in the sea in pitch black!

We set off with a spear gun and a less useful spear lassoo type thing (basically a spear with a bit of elastic on the back, the elastic is pulled back and released. This is extremely hard to do though - as we soon found out!). It was actually far less scary than we thought and was both fascinating and exciting. We both stuck close to Jim as he had the only flash light, getting a few kicks in the stomach along the way. We never expected to catch so much but we caught loads, including:
3 x Lobsters
A giant octopus
3 different types of fish
A strange type of crab
and Dom got a huge adrenalin rush when he speared the only squid of the night!

After over 2 hours in the sea, we traipsed back to Adi's Place, where Thema and The Queen of Fiji were waiting for us. They were promptly told (by Jim) that they would be cooking our catch. So within ten minutes, we sat and ate our second dinner that evening.

This experience was truly awesome and completed what was an amazing day!
