penultimate stage over - very sad !!!!
just at the airport waiting for our 10.5 hr flight - we fly tonight (Sat) 11:30pm and miraculously we land Sat afternoon 8hrs earlier in LA - something magic called a datelline - that's really gonna mess with our body clocks !!
We've had a fab time chillling on our own little bit a gorgeous beach all day right in front of our little bure, snoozing in our hammock, snorkelling with the fishes in the coral reef that ran around the bay, me beating carl at chess and getting eaten alive by mosquitoes (they are seriously nasty out here) - but the biggest dissappointment was the feeding sessions ! I think we have actually lost some of the pounds we put on over the past weeks - carl is distraught as he was building himself up for next season for a front row position! (see I'm getting up on my rugby talk after listening to it for the past few weeks). We've just devoured an extra large pizza at the airport as our bellies were rumbling. The resort was supposedly inclusive of 3 meals a day but what we didn't realise was that
we were served the same meals as the backpackers when we had paid about 8 times as much per night - granted the accomodation wasn't the same but what a rip-off - princess was not happy !!!!
the low point was a pumpkin & potato pasta bake they tried to serve as a main course - truly disgusting - the chef should be sacked.
we caught the ferry back to the mainland which took us around the other islands in the Mamanucas - it was interesting seeing them and listening to the various tales of what was good and what was bad - all the backpackers were raving about our island, places like Robinson Crusoe and Mana seemed to be the worst for food. We passed Bounty Island where Celebrity Love Island was filmed and Castaway where the Tom Hanks film was set - they all looked pretty gorgeous. It seems you have to pay an extortionate amount of money to actually get a really decent island with great service & food - and given what we've paid in Thailand or the Maldives for something very similar (deserted gorgeous island in the middle of a big sea) then you

the island on the left opposite our resort is a celebrity haunt at £4000/night !!!!!!!!wouldn't bother going all the way to Fiji.
as you can tell we still can't upload photos - just internet kiosks but promise we will as soon as we find somewhere in LA !!!!
we're trying to build ourselves up for the massive culture shock when we get back - can't believe we're being invaded - my parents, hoppy & big bird staying the first weekend we're back and then carl's parents moving in the following weekend. At least we'll have some help with the washing, cooking and cleaning for a while !!!!! Although Keith, Carol & I will have Carl as a house husband until September !!!! teeheehee

p.s. I hear Buster and us girls from Nettie's Easycruise finally made it onto the airline programme on TV - I just hope someone taped it for me, can't believe I missed it !!!!!! I bet we looked just gorgeous in those bridesmaids dresses

cant believe you are on your way home already!! see how interesting work is, you just dont see the weeks fly by!! (NOT) thankfully i missed our tv debut and it would seem, with all the luck in the world, so has everyone i work with. might be a little soon to count my blessings though. hopefully you are as lucky.
