Tuesday 28th February:
Just a quick blog tonight to use up our last few internet minutes on board. We arrived
in Sydney about 6 o'clock this morning and moored up right in Circular Quay opposite the
Opera House and next to the bridge. Got straight on a tour out to the Blue Mountains.
On the way we stopped at an animal sanctuary and got to see so many native Aussie
animals - even got to stroke kangaroos and wallabies. Also saw Koalas, Kookaburra, a
saltwater croc - which we did NOT stroke! - wombats, Echidna and wonderful birds of
every colour imaginable.
Up in the mountains we rode the world's steepest railway - a pretty hairy 52 degree
incline - down into a valley and then rode on a cable car back up to the top.
This evening it's boring stuff like packing but we're off the ship at about 9am tomorrow
and then the real fun begins here. The ship is opposite our apartment building and it
looks terrific - right in the heart of the harbour so there won't ever be a dull moment.
We'll upload some more photos once we're in our apartment as, if our plans come good,
we'll have broadband and easy access to the web.
Having a ball and extremely glad Cunard do world cruises and Costa don't!!
