The sea is like a mill pond today, the smoothest we have seen. There is still a little pitch and roll though I love this feeling. Talking to some people, they experienced 2 or 3 days of sea sickness at the beginning but most came right. Some used the medical centre on board and some came equipped with ginger tablets, pressure bands and other remedies. It's quite odd though when you have your first shore excursion to find walking on land equally unstable. The poor inner ear has to work hard to adjust to all this change. The crew do not seem to feel a thing, and carry on as if nothing was happening.
The Pacific Cirque last night did have some trouble with a couple of their acts due to the sideways roll, balancing on one hand on a wobbly 3 metre pole is tough at the best of times but add to that a moving and rolling ship!
Today we are traveling south west through The Coral Sea into the Tasman Sea. The air feels cooler and less tropical. We come close to the shore of Australia in QLD & NSW south of the Gold Coast
& north of Newcastle and Port Stephens.
Today I did some more shopping, duty free booze, 2 x 1 litre bottles of spirits for $25-, all neatly given to you in a nice reinforced bag. These special shopping events are set up on tables in the Atrium. So all up I have purchased 2 sets of snorkel gear, $90 of Bijoux Terner bits and pieces and the booze. I'm not really into shopping so this is huge for me.
We did get $200 free on board credit, so we divided this up for $100 off our account each.Looked at our account today and I have spent around $650- over the last 12 days, so this is coffee, drinks, ice-creams, incidental
Portraits taken last night could be purchased for $30 each this morning and because they print almost every one up in nice 8x10 it is tempting. We had ours taken at all 6 locations to go in the draw for $150 free
portraits, so there was a lot to choose from. The black and white ones were impressive, as were the most of them, considering the quickness with which they were taken. There were 6 places on deck 7 set up with different backdrops, with people trying to walk past, rolling ship, not that easy.
We chose 8 of them, out of about 60 that were printed, the photo lab must be a very busy place on board.
Top game of Australian trivia today with another couple and a guy where we managed to score 14 out of 20 to take top prize. Seriously did you know that Dame Nellie Melba was on the $100 dollar note and that 5 countries are bigger than Australia (Russia, China, USA, Brazil, Canada) and that Kylie Minogue's lingerie range is called Love Kylie!
We plan to see the final show tonight, have buffet tea, one last Karaoke song and then early bed. Well before midnight is considered early on the cruise!
We arrive in Sydney early next morning and we will be disembarking at 7-15am.

Thank you
Sounds like you had a really good time. I enjoyed reading your blog - thanks for taking the time to write it. We're off on a P&O cruise in a bit over a week, so reading about yours was very helpful. Tracey.
