Up at 07.00 am and had breakfast outside on the terrace. It was a gorgeous morning. Today was earmark for Graham and Cath to give us a tour of the high spots of Perth.

Firstly we went to the Hillarys Marina, a really nice place with shops, restaurants and a family beach. We then followed the West Coast Highway down the coast passing through Scarborough beach. We stopped at Cottesloe Beach, which was really picturesque; we got out of the car and had a walk around. With such a nice beach it was amazing how few people were on the beach, but I guess it was Monday

We continued along the side of the Swan River via Dalkeith to get to Kings Park and the Botanical Gardens. Here we had lunch in the restaurant, there on a hill giving good views out over downtown Perth. In the afternoon we walk around the Botanical Gardens, which included some tree walks. It was a really enjoyable afternoon, but the hot sun was beginning to take its toll and we returned to the car to make our way back to Graham and Cath’s house.

After some refreshment we were taken to the Crematorium at Pinneroo. Sound a little weird. But we were told that we might see some Kangaroos that came to this spot in the evening. This was completely undersold to us, we were expecting to see the odd kangaroo, but there were “loads” of them. I got some great pictures, particularly of a pair of Kangaroos that were having a boxing match!

Return home where Cath had prepared a lovely salad dinner, we spent the evening initially chatting, and later watching some TV
