Feeding the galahs at the campsite
The Festival at Tom Price had rides and games. I got a hat that is silver and blue with writing. At the caravan park there were lots of galahs. We got to feed them stale bread and rice crackers. It was fun. They are beautiful and soft.

We went down the mine road to Millstream National Park. There were trains and we stopped for lunch at the crossing. We saw a mine worker that had a white flag and he went on top of the railway line and unrolled his flag and waved it at the train driver. We waved at the trains and they tooted back to us.

We stayed at Crossing Pool in Millstream National Park. There was lots of water in the river. We met some kids there and made paperbark boats and floated them in the river. We went for a walk to the homestead. At the homestead there is a pond with all waterlillies in I, but only a couple of flowers. I found some paperbark by a sign and carried it back to camp. My Dad found some paperbark for me as well. When we got back we found sticks to make the

boats. My brother made one the next day. We were throwing yonnies at my Dad’s boat to try and sink it. Alex met some boys that were named David & Peter. Peter got Dad’s & my boat back when he went out in the canoe. There were lots of wildflowers starting to come out. I took a photo of Sturts Desert Pea, they also come with a black centre.

In Karratha we stayed at the Country Club overflow caravan park. We got to watch the lawn bowling one night. We went to the North West Shelf Gas Project Visitor’s Centre. It was interesting to see how they get the gas out from below the sea and pump it up to the top and on to land in the storage containers. The legs of the gas rig are drilled into the seabed. It is amazing it doesn’t fall over with the rough seas. We got to watch a DVD of how they make the gas and built the gas rig. The big LNG ships transport the gas to Japan. Japan is their biggest customer. I took a photo of the gas flame. They burn off the excess gas this way.
