Hot, hot, hot. The temperature did not drop much overnight and we were
feeling it this morning. In the van and off to Scarborough on the coast.
The masses were moving to the beach early as it was already a scorcher and
we wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else. We parked down near Brighton
Beach and after a quick walk and a coffee it was time for a swim and not a
minute too soon.
There were plenty of people in the water; no surprise there as the water
was magic. Very clear water and no seaweed. Rachel didn't last long
though as she managed to get stung by a jellyfish. As the responsible
swimmers we are (remember always swim between the flags) she was quick to
find the life savers who applied some lotion to ease the sting.
After this I could tell a few of the locals were looking about in the water
and as I became a bit more focussed on avoiding a sting I started spotting
the jellyfish. Nasty little suckers with tentacles awaiting any
unsuspecting arms or legs in their vicinity. That was enough for me and I
made my way back to our gear.
After a quick shower we sat on the lawns keeping cool in the shade and then
received some very welcomed news. Our real estate agent had phoned and
when we called her back she informed us she had found suitable tenants to
rent our house - gold. That was a huge relief and made all that hard work
getting the place up to scratch worth it.
Once we had finished up collecting some groceries we headed back to the
caravan park for lunch. Nothing much to do after that except stay cool in
the pool and that we did......now this is a good holiday.
