The Recorder!The Recorder!The Recorder!

A Better Look at my Awesome Christmas Present
So...surprise surprise, Eric and I haven't done a whole lot of "partying" in Australia despite the fact that we can legally drink. Sure, we've had a couple of fun nights out, especially on Mondays (a club in Perth offers free bbq and free drink vouchers just for showing up on Mondays!), but overall we usually end up having fun spending the nights hanging out in Freo. Last night was no exception. There was a surprise party for a girl from P&O (where Eric lives) at a local club and everyone was invited. Eric, Karla, and I all decided to check it out and basically ended up standing around for an hour with all of the other study abroad students in a secluded room of a club...it was alright, but we knew we could have WAY more fun doing something else...so the three of us walked back to...where else? The P&O kitchen! We made a yummy midnight snack--pasta stir-fry and then cookies for dessert! Eric's roommate Noel, who didn't go out, came down to the kitchen and joined us. We all decided to play some cards and Noel suggested the game P&A (which stands for..."Presidents and A**holes"...hey, I didn't name the game, I just played it!) It's a pretty simple game but the kicker comes when the winner of every round is named the President (3 guesses for what the loser is named...) and is allowed to make a rule. That's when the fun began. Eric, who was named the first president, decided that every time a certain play was made in the game everyone had to "do their best Jagger," meaning they had to impersonate McJagger from the Rolling Stones! Noel was by FAR the best...he had the protruding-lips and crazy dance down cold...the rest of us, well, not so much. The next president, Noel, upon my suggestion, decided that everyone had to speak in the third person when referring to themselves! The penalty for forgetting was silence for the whole round! Well, speaking in the third person is apparently not Karla's forte as she lost very quickly. Samantha, on the other hand, was doing very well...until she decided to sing along with the song playing which unfortunately happened to be "I can't get no satisfaction" to which Noel brilliantly responded with "Noel believes that Samantha just referred to herself in the first person when she sang 'I can't get no

satisfaction!'" Grrr. Lost on a technicality. The last rule was made by yours truly in which the loser of a hand had to run around the table acting like a chicken...apparently Noel felt it necessary to speak in the third person while doing that as well because when he had to run around the table he chanted "The Chicken is clucking" and narrated his run in the third person. Needless to say, it turned out to be a fun night after all = )

Attached are some fun recent pics!

So..we went out on Monday night and just missed the train. We had half an hour to wait at the train station which is the excuse for a number of unnecessary (but awesome!) pictures...including this one!

We do not know this person. Katie, Andria, and I were on the dance floor and this guy was kind of creepily lurking around so we decided to take a "creeped out" picture and he actually jumped next to us and posed!
