A Quick Recap

Well, its almost midnight on Sunday and I have 8:30 Indigenous Literature class tomorrow, but I had a pretty eventful weekend so I thought I'd give a quick recap! I was pretty busy all week because Pene (the bookshop manager) and Widge were both out of the office all week. That only left Natasha and I so my usual 4-hours-a-week deal got bumped up a bit. So after a busier-than-usual week, I was excited for the WEEKEND! Friday night Eric and I and five other study abroad students went to the Casino in Perth! I was a little bit worried after Eric lost 40 dollars in the first 10 minutes we were there, but after that we decided to head to a lower stakes table of roulette...which was an EXCELLENT choice : ) Eric ended up picking the right number and won about $100 on one spin! I was a little bit more cautious and only bet a little bit at a time...but ended up winning $50 over the course of the night : ) On Saturday, the residents of Port Lodge decided to celebrate...CHRISTMAS...naturally. I'm not exactly sure how it came about but we had a big celebration with lots of Christmas movies (including the classic, Muppet Christmas Carol!), cookies, eggnog (thanks to ME...and my Dad's recipe), and Secret Santa (which was definitely the highlight). I got a musical recorder and two "My-Little-Pony"s...so I was pretty happy : ) Eric got a "Australia's Deadliest Locations" DVD and a FAIRY WAND...which I proceeded to steal (see pictures). On Saturday night Eric, Karla (who lives in P & O, where Eric lives) and I all went to the beach for the sunset and took some fun pictures! Then I went to bed early so I could wake up at 3AM to watch the ND football game...everyone in the whole house either woke up or stayed up for it. I have to (sheepishly) admit that I didn't last long...the quality was AWFUL because it was just someone's webcam attached to the TV. I stayed up for a quarter and after NOTHING happened, I went back to bed, but I found out we ended up winning : ) Sunday was just a lazy day, I went for a run and then went to the beach again with Karla. Eric's Race
I forgot to mention, Eric ran in the "City to Surf" 12k race and took 31ST OUT OF 30,000+!!! If THAT'S not awesome, I don't know what is!

Man, sounds like you are having so much fun. The pictures of you sealing Eric's wand remind me why l love you. Keep updating, I love reading it.
