GIDDAY EVERYBODY!

Firstly sorry about the long gaps inbetween posts i have been living the dream!!! soooooo much has happend since i last did a post, so to make up for it im gonna do two posts! one of my road trip and one of xmas and new years, with pictures! woohoo.

Here goes.
Well it all started a long time ago in a far far away place (perth, west australia, 10th Dec). After working for about 9 weeks in perth i saved up and bought my self a car to drive to sidney in. Its a 1997 2.4 mitsibishi magna estate (so it can fit all the bags in). I had the thing a week, A WEEK and the clutch went on it! so i got it repaired and serviced and then off we went, me, Nile and Shawn (two irish lads) we headed south as we wanted to see the south coast of WA, after 5 hours of driving we decided to stop off at the nearest beach and stay there for the night. We were trying to save money and decided we could sleep in the car so parked up facing the beach and went for a walk along it. Now this is one of the crasyist thing i have seen in my life. As we walked along the beach we noticed some small children and adults taking pictures and splashing about in the shallow water. Upon closer inspection we saw the children placing meat into the water???? only to see a huge wild stingray come right up to the child and eat the meat right from his hand! Madness shear madness, the children asked if i wanted some and i had a go, only to act like a 6yr old school girl and wimper away as it came charging for me. That for me made the whole road trip. We then sat down on the beach and just conteplated on what we had just seen, thats when i noticed what i thought was Shawns flip flops floating away in the sea as i started to laugh i told him and Nile corrected me and said that they were the new ones i had bought a that day!! Arrrrhh! they were mine and floting away in sting ray invested waters! no way was i gonig in after them. lol. After that we had a few beers and slept in the car. Only to have the worst nights sleep ever and all decide never to sleep in the car again! so we bougt a cheap 2 man tent for the 3 of us! As we drove along the south coast we saw some amasing sights, on the second day we visited australias biggest tree and walked around the forest (its a bit diffrent from the forest of dean) it was huge as u can see from the picture, you could drive a car through it!That night we slept in the tent and found out that u actually only can fit two men into a two man tent! would u belive??? so Nile had to sleep in the car again as we decided to take it in turns.
Day three, we were up quite early considering we was all nursing a little hangover and headed down the road for breakfast, we decided to go on a tree top walk as we had heard good things about it from other people and it was only down the road. It was wicked we were on bridges in between metal platforms 40m above the ground and could see for miles!

stopped off at a cheese factory for munchies
it was off to green bay a quiet secluded bay in the middle of nowhere! but it was gorjus, the rocks stopped the surf comming into the beach and the water was pefectly calm and cristal clear so we hung around there for the afternoon and had our selfs a nice little picnic on the beach. That night we decided to stay in a hostal because we wanted a good nights sleep and had two full days of driving ahead of us across the dessert into south australia (over 1500km).we went out into the town in the evening which was crap as the place only had two pubs and one only served its own homebrew????
The next two days consisted of non stop driving from dawn till dusk and in the evening drinking goon (a very cheep boxed wine, 5quid for 4 litres!) and watching dvds on my laptop. The next stop we made was in port augusta just north of adelade where we stayed in a hostal above a popular pub in the town and went out drinking. We met a load of locals and they invited us back to a house for a party. We ended up staying

there for two days and two nights just partying away it was a totaly mental and compleatly random weekend. After that we went to Adelade and camped out in a caravan park right next to the beach and had our selfs a bbq and a few goons.
The next big thing we did was drive the great ocean road. This is a stretch of road that winds along the south coast line from wannabol all the way to melbourn. It has some amasing veiws, beaches, cliffs, caves, and rock formations and is a high tourist attraction. When we arrived in Melbourn we met up with a friend who we met back in perth and he showed us around and took us out for a night out on the town, The folowing day he took us up to his house which is an hour outside Melbourn in the middle of nowere in the middle of the forest, and its huge! his parents own a farm or something and they have staff quaters, dormatorys and recreational areas we are going back there in feb for is 21st birthday. The next day we drove to Sydney which took about nine hours. That is the end of our road trip!!!!! Possably the best 2 weeks i have had in australia (so far!).
