Hello,

It's the beginning of school holiday in Western Australia, and when we arrived on the camping ground in Coral Bay, we took the last available spot, so we were lucky as we didn't book in advance. Going on a boat trip into Ningaloo Reef was an option, and as we went to look for a place on the glass bottom boat, we found out that such an excursion was about to leave in 20 minutes. We made it to jump on that boat for a three hour voyage, hovering around just above the reef. Time to observe the grass feeding of the turtles in their natural habitat, and then on another spot snorkel for a while, and the third stop was feeding the snapper at the border of the reef. Exciting.

Begin van een schoolvakantie in WA, toekomen op een campingplaats in Coral Bay juist op tijd om de laatste vrije plaats in te nemen, dus een geluk, want we hadden niet op voorhand geboekt. Een uitstap maken naar het Ningaloo Reef hadden we in gedachten, wat bleek toen we gingen zien voor zo'n uitstap, 20 minuten later zou de toer starten. Drie uur op een boot met glasbodem varen over een prachtig rif is curieus, je ziet schildpadden grazen in hun natuurlijke omgeving ( gelukkig beschermde omgeving ), op een andere plaats gaan snorkelen voor een moment, en dan het voederen van een school snapper terwijl je ertussen zwemt. Spannend.
