We planned to be in Broome at this time of the month because of Staircase to the Moon. At full moon, when the moon rises, over the mud flats on town beach it creates a reflection that looks like a staircase leading to the moon. Like a sunrise but with the moon. We're camping on town beach so we went out to see it all three nights. The first night we didn't see it because we were standing in the wrong place! We walked up to the end of the jetty Wednesday and Thursday night and we saw it clearly from there. Wednesday night was good but it was covered in cloud on Thursday and the tide was coming back in beacuse it was later than the previous nights.

They had night markets next to the beach Tuesday and Wednesday and we had some yummy ice-cream and doughnuts!

Yesterday, we went to Guillaume Point to look for dinosaur footprints. You can see some at very low tide but there's only one bus there a day and we don't think the tide was low enough when we got there. Even if we were there at low tide it looked dangerous because it's rocky. We saw some casts that are displayed on the cliff top. We were planning to walk the 2-3 miles back to Cable Beach but luckily just after we set off an Australian couple stopped and offered us a lift. I think we might have melted if they hadn't! It was only about 9am but as soon as the sun rises it's hot and there are no clouds. Anne-Marie got the bus back to Town Beach after a couple of hours becuase she got sunburnt and I spent the rest of the day on Cable Beach sunbathing and eating ice-cream :-D
