Sunny winter giggles

Winter has hit us! Apparently not as hard as it used to be. But Melburnians do dress up with layers and layers, beanies, gloves, massive scarfs even dogs have to pay the same price due to winter. And when I say winter I'm talking 13 degrees at daytime. Yeah right, I had the same response; WHAT are you doing? It's not freezing, not even close, why are you dressing up yourselves and your poor little puppies as if you're gonna hit knee deep snow. Intriguing, specially for the normally pretty dull morning commute to the place where I work; Sunshine!

This is such a happy name for one of the worst, grey and uninspiring areas of Melbourne. Due to low rent of housing that's where our clients live, and thus where our office is situated. We are telling each other when suspicious characters lurk around the backdoor, we are not supposed to leave after 5pm alone and even our toilet door has to be locked at all times(just in case a negative someone did enter without being noticed). Of course we find our way around Sunshine pretty well by now, the coffee ladies downstairs know our orders, next door ladies our names and we know where the best bargain is for a pork roll including a can of soda.

Honestly, we should speak to God if we can have a little more of these winters back home. It can get cold at night, around 2 degrees. It is sometimes grey and rainy, but almost never for the whole day. Nevertheless I also got lured into the same contagious habits into the not very attractive bulking up. More also because the house I live in is great but very (c)old, solution; put more clothes on, fill up my warm water bottle and huddle together with this furry 'friend' in a cosy position. I do weekly swim in an outdoor pool without those layers obviously, but with recently scored Speedo goggles. And again I do fit in.

Spring is around the corner. Air is getting slightly warmer, buds are showing off in the trees, all these first precious steps of new life. Same is happening within mine, carefully not sure were it's heading. At least some cuddling at the homeland is involved as well as an amazing trip with my sweet beloved friend to explore Sri Lankas sercrets! Very excited! And also what makes me smirk is if I can beat the system and dodge, my very first, speeding ticket which is slowly making its way to me.
