I headed from Adelaide to Melbourne as you previously read by bus, it took about 12 hours and the journey went great-nice and chilled out and watched couple of movies-awesome!
I arrived in Melbourne city centre (cbd-central business district) and asked how i got to St Kilda, thats another part of Melbourne, as thats where i would be stayed-at a hostel called ' The Coffee Palace'. I was told i needed to get a tram which the city was full of, going in all directions all over Melbourne. I got on the no.16 and headed to St kilda, it was 6pm at night so busy with office workers etc but i got chatting to a girl who told me exactly where to get off so all was good 😊 I got off at my stop and got to the backpackers where i made myself at home in a 8bed dorm, all the people in it were lovely so all was good! There was a couple of Germans and 3 Canadians who i got on well with so over the 4 days of staying there i had a great laugh and shared some good times with them. After getting settled in i headed to meet Emma for some dinner as i was starving! It was so good to see her and catch up on what she had been up to. We stayed out for couple of hours then headed home as would be up early the next day to get ready The Melbourne cup!

So after a good sleep i got ready and headed to meet Emma about 9ish that morning, she was in a lovely dress and hat, unfortunately due to me only having a days notice i had no time to get anything new or nice to wear so smart black trousers and a top had to do, i knicked Emmas hat for any pics she was not in haha! The day was brilliant! We seen all sorts of people dressed in all sorts of outfits, some ladies and glammed up and looking awesome, some looked as if they were heading to a rave for the night and others just dressed in their backpacker clothes. Then there was the men, some dressed in lovely suits, others in Kilts!! and then of course there was the people who done it well and went dressed up-they were cracking! We had wonderwoman's, jockey's, santa's, ladyboy's, tennis players (?), and all sorts-it was hilarious! We spent most of the day looking at other people than the races haha! And then of course there was also the hats, they were awesome-small, medium, big and huge! Ones with feathers, horses on them and everything, hilarious! During the day we watched the races, put bets on-so much fun, felt like a pure adult lol! We also met one of Emma's friends Denni, who spent few hours with us, we had some lunch then drank some Champagne (as you do) it was a great day and the sun was shining! I ended up getting burnt so had a nice rosey nose for that night-great! As the races were getting to the last few we headed for a wander as we hadnt placed any bets on the last 2, as we walked we heard some live music, we had came accross a awesome band who were dressed as jockeys and playing trumpets etc-they were awesome! So after dancing away to them and having a ball they finished and we headed to just outside the arena to sit on the grass and watch the last race on the big

screen tv. As the last race finished a band began playing on stage-they too were awesome and were singing away and getting the crowd to join in, it was so much fun! We met up with some of the irish girls from the tour as they too were there so we danced away with them and some other random folk, it was hilarious! After about a hour the band came to a end so we all headed back to the city on the train which was heaving! Everyone was very merry from all the champers so it was a great atmosphere! Once off the train we headed to Southbank which was a area down by the water where there was loads of pubs, clubs and resturants-it was great! We all grabbed something to eat then headed to a Irish pub called 'PJ O'Briens' where we spent the rest of the night drinking, dancing away and meeting loads of folk! I will not go through the whole night but lets just say we all had a absolutely awesome night, met loads of peeps and had brilliant fun! It came to a end about 4am, when i headed back to my hostel to collapse in to bed-awesome day, The Melbourne Cup rocks!!!!!

I have spent almost 7 weeks in Melbourne and so wont tell you about all my days here as you would be here for hours reading about it so i will just skim over it:
I moved after my 4 days in St Kilda to a place called 'Blackburn' to stay with a lady i had met in Broome called Berni, she was a cool lady and said i could stay with her for a while so i thought why not, i stayed with her for a week and had a lovely time. She had a cat called 'Purrsilla' who was gorgeous! She also had a beautiful home, which she invited me in to with open arms, she gave me my own bedroom and bathroom which were gorgeous. We had a great time together chilling out and going shopping etc. It was a awesome week but i had to move on as she was just too far out of the city for me to travel in to see Emma or go out at night so after a week i headed to the cbd! When i headed back in i decided to try staying in the city rather than St Kilda and it was here i had the time of my life! I stayed in a backpackers hostel called 'Flinders Street Station Backpackers' which was brilliant! I had a 4 bed dorm with girls and this is where i met Vicki, a English girl who was travelling alone for 6 months around Australia. We got on like a house on fire and spent the next 2 weeks with each other constantly. We decided to rent a car a couple of times and drive to see the Great Ocean Road, Phillip Island and The Neighbours set but i will tell you all about that in another blog! For 2 weeks we partied, partied and done more partying, it was amazing! Every night that we went out we would get some goon (a box of cheapo wine) have few glasses of that then head to the best place in Melbourne-PJ O'Briens! I have been there so many times now i have lost count and every one of them has been a awesome night! Pj's always have live bands on every night so its brilliant, always busy, full of Irish people who are up for a laugh and dancing-what better? So me and Vicki spent a lot of time there! We also done some sight seeing, we went to The Botanic Gardens, Shrine of Rememberance, Chinatown etc which was also great fun! The weather most of the time was great too, between 25 and 35 degrees 😊

As our 2 weeks together came to a end i decided i needed to get a job and so i started looking, i joined 4 agencies and not one of them got me a job-useless! The day Vicki went to book her bus to Sydney at Peterpans Tour Operators i went with her and we got talking to Josie the manager. She asked if i would also be going to Sydney and i said no, i was staying in Melbourne and that i needed a job, her reply to this was 'I'll give you one', yeeha! That was the Thursday, and on the Saturday i started working for Peterpans in St Kilda-yeeha! My job was to take the names of those using the internet, take money etc, promote Peterpans deals and get chatting to all the backpackers that came in! It was awesome, i got to meet some pretty cool people, made loads of friends, chilled out-and got paid for it! 😊 Our little shop was great, we are a really chilled out place with music playing and we plan out tailor made trips for backpackers at good rates. Josie was my manager, a really lovely Aussie chick, she is teeney tiny but her voice is loud lol, really cool girl tho and i got on awesome with her. Due to me getting the job in St Kilda i decided it was a bit silly to stay in the city and so i moved back to The Coffee Palace Backpackers in St Kilda which was accross the street from Peterpans-literally a 30 second walk woohoo! When i moved back there i decided to treat myself to a 4bed dorm as i would be staying there for 4 weeks so i moved in with Miles a kiwi, Steve a English guy and Andrew a French dude. Miles and Steve were there for the whole time i was so i got to know them both pretty well although Steve more, we got on awesomely and had a great laugh with each other. We also went out one nite in St Kilda, and had a great laugh-druken nights always rule haha! the third bed which was filled with Andrew got changed around a lot and so i got to meet a few different people. Our room was the best though, totally chilled out and i had loads of laughs in it-room 29 rocked! So for over 4 weeks i have been working in Peterpans, going out with some girls i have met, Debbie and Laura-2 Scottish girls, Colleen, a Irish girl i met through Vicki who stays in the city and so i meet up with her at weekends to go to PJ O'Briens, some Irish folk i met and loads more.

Laura my cousin came over from Adelaide, as she eventually left Wickepin, on my second last week in Melbourne so i took a couple of days off and chilled out with her and done some partying which was awesome! We had a great time and we chilled out by the beach, got our hair cut, went to cinema and seen 'Heartbreak Kid' which was hilarious! It was great to see Laura again although weird to be travelling with someone again. She got moved in to my room which was great as we could chill out at night with some goon in our room and have a good laugh. Although we were spending christmas and New Years together we would be splitting for a few days again as her flight to Byron Bay was from Sydney rather than Melbourne so Laura left on the Monday before she had to head to Sydney for her flight and i stayed until the Thursday. But before she left we had to have one big night out in Melbourne and she had to see PJ'O Briens so we decided to have a big SUnday night out-it was awesome, possibly one of my favourite nights out to date! We had some goon in the hostel before heading to PJ's to meet up with Lynn from Scotland who knew Laura and some of her friends. We got extremely drunk and to keep it short we had a superb night, dancing, singing and having a laugh with other peeps-brilliant! Plus i wona gansta Jagermeister hat and Laura won a poliroid piccie which was awesome! After Pj's we headed to 'The Joint' bar before heading home where we ended up making it just in time for brekkie-free pancakes yey! So after talking to some Irish lads in our hostel and having some pancakes we headed tyo bed at 8.30am-yeeha! At 2 that afternoon we got up and headed for hangover food-McDonalds here we come! Hangover curer-perfect!!!!

My last few days in Melbourne were spent doing the Neighbours night which i got for free from Josie my manager as a xmas pressie (sweetheart) which i have included in my other blog (so awesome) and also meeting up with some peeps to say my goodbye's-aww!!! I am really sad to be leaving Melbourne as i have loved every minute i have been here - literally! I have met so many people who have became good friends and i will keep in touch with, seen some amazing sights, been to some awesome places, and had the best nights out in PJ O'Briens i could wish for! Lets just hope they can be matched in Byron Bay-my next destination! I will be spending a week and celebrating xmas there, cant wait as meeting up with my Welsh girls-bring it on! Melbourne will be missed though, its been amazing xxxx
