Sorry we haven't written in a while, we've been on the beach! Find an excellent spot for kite-boarding which has strong wind for most of three weeks. We hook up with a kite-school, which provide wetsuits and some gear for Emma, until her shiny new kite arrives. One weekend 30 brightly coloured kites fill the sky like airborne jellyfish, and an equal number rest on the beach. Kilda has a massive kite-boarding community, ready to help with tips, gear, launching and invitations for beer. Paul quickly masters the art of travelling upwind, henceforth avoiding the beginners walk of shame up the beach. Emma is happy to hurtle downwind and let Paul carry the board back for her.
