A late start and first excursion was on the free city circle tram to get a view of the area. We then called in at the information centre to pick up some tourist literature. By now it is lunchtime. We dropped of our library in the hotel and set off for the botanical gardens. On the way we could see the Rod Laver Tennis arena, home of the Australian Open Tennis, the MCG home of man

y defeats for the English cricket team, the Etihad Stadium, football and rugby of all codes and Albert Park home of the Australian F1 all within a mile of the city centre.

As you will see from our photos, on our walk Lyn met Linda Gorringe who runs a bridal shop and Dave met a couple of mates on their way to work in Albert P

ark. Another busy day, and more tomorrow.
