we travelled down the national road towards barcelona ...near Girona we started to see semi naked prostitutes standing or sitting onchairs by the roadway...we new times were tough here but this is looking really bad. These girls were all about 20 and some had no undies on ..it was extroadinary and suddenly Denis welcomed his arrival in spain and for once it wasnt about food!!!!!Last night went to watch madrid and barcelona play football in a restaurant surrounded by spaniards that hated madrid..an exciting game that was a draw in the end...we were barricking along with the locals..we got to the camp late and were locked out so we had to jump a verrrry big fence pissed...how ridiculous..this morning we are lethargic and just hoping the CCTV was not on!!!The beach here at Blanes is superb and the sun is warm we are loving it..on first looks theclothes and food here is verrry cheap compared to france and Italy. The strawberries are as big as kiwi fruit and soo sweet we are eating them like apples.Today we go south of barcelona to another beach before heading up to Zaragoza...its a very happy Australia day.landed on our feet in Villanova its like a holiday

Enjoying Spanish Tapas camp with a heated pool and jacuzzis ...so here we have stayed for 2 daYS TO RECUPERATE FROM THE HARD WORK OF TRAVELLING EUROPE..the place is full of brits and germans living here all winter..the food however is dismal..a bland meal last night where the fish, mussels .pork and apple pie all tasted the same . denis was distraught..we will have to move on!!! Back to the highroad tomoro.I have noticed no one mentions the belgiams..you never see them and no one ever goes there I dont know why but I suspect its because they are all puffy and bloated and quite unremarkable..does anyone know any ??? Today we went west from Vilanova to Zaragoza..very quickly it took on a lunar landscape ..all brown and no trees and mounds everywhere like someone dug for gold and didnt tidy up.I blame the Moors they wandered up here and the trouble with them was they bought their goats..and goats eat everything thank god they never made it to France.!!!Zaragoza looms up in the distance and looks like Beirut in the 70's..not sure whether its declining of growing ..empty half done buildings everywhere. From there to Madrid it looked more like Mexico a lonely desolate

Is it really him? place where a poorly painted cafe appears on the horizon with a fat lady with a scarf and moustache makes a very poor coffee while whistling!! Eerie!!! Madrid by contrast is grand in the centre with some of the most beautiful buildings we have seen. We picked up Maureen at the airport and headed to town for tapas and wines. You dont pay for the food ..just the wine and the more you drink the more they give you..needless to say ..we ate a lot.The next daay we went to the plaza Mayor and did some serious shopping..well Maureen did!!We stayed in a 2 star hotel next to a panel beaters..but with some safe parking for Ruby. There are no hotels near the new terminal 4 ..just this old hostel.Yesterday we had a big drive to Cordoba on the way to Malaga. This country is beautiful..lots of valleys, olive groves and treeless mountains. We are off today to explore the oldest mosque..from 8th century.Last night maureen asked if we changed for dinner..Denis and I fell about laughing..as we have had only 2 changes of clothes for 6 months we actually have to leave town before changing..that way no one knows we wear the same
thing ..unfortunately Maureen has busted us !!! I cant wait to get to the malaga timeshare it has a washing machine!!!
No contact for awhile ..laid low with a spanish flu..not Denis no..nothing inhabits him.Malaga is insane they have buggered up that coast with no planning and lots of corruption..its not like spain full of poms and germans. The traffic is a nightmare.Denis and maureen went to Morroco which they loved finding it so different with those crazy arabs.Ronda was beautiful ..quiet and peaceful on a plateau surrounded with magnificent gorges and lots of olives and oranges.Things are cheap here and the people are tense...very unsure of their jobs and future. They only get the dole for 2 years then they struggle to survive. We spent some fun nights with our mates from dartmoor that came to stay..lots of dancing etc..after that we drove over the sierras to the Costa Blanca..today we are in Altea its gorgeous ..quaint and good planning ..once a gain lots of dutch and poms make this their winter home..cant blame them the sun is great.Apart from benidorm this coast is lovely. We are in Denia not so quaint but no tourists a real spanish town.Heading for Barcelona on
sat..we are all stil shocked by the young prostitutes on the roadside sitting on a chair..talking to sleezy truck drivers ..doesnt seem right for those young girls!!! In Vilanova for 4 days only 50km form Barcelona..last night we went to Sitges Carnival it was amazing .At 3pm they had the kids carnival which was well organised and magnificent costumes and most floats had rehearsed routines..the drumming and dancing was fantastic..we drove home after that to have a rest..then went back to the adults version that started at 8pm...what a contrast.!!! The costumes again were fab but the whole thing was a chaotic scrum..they were all pissed dribbling alond with droopy feathers falling over ..it was sooo bad all smoking and staggering in the parade..it went for about 3 hours..we made lots of friends with the spaniards in the crowd and I wondered what they thought. After that we went to a gay bar full of trannies with magnificent feathers and make up..we couldnt get Denis out of there he was up dancing the YMCA with half naked men..Maureen too was in there especially when ABBA came on..yours truly sat outside watching the passing friek show and wondering about the bizarrness of

Spain the home of the Olive humans..2 gays sat down beside me and one fell asleep ..pissed!!! on my shoulder..the other told me there love history 14 years together.......Eventually thank god I drove home with the 2 drunk OBriens singing YMCA in the back!!!!!Dropped Maureen at Barcelona airport then began the 1300km trek to the Roscoff ferry to the UK.Unlike Oz it takes you about 1 an a half hours to do 100km here due to all the roundabouts and small roads.Weheaded up to Bordeaux and found a Cassoulet in a tin!! It was fantastic..wish we had bought more. The next day we reached Nantes and if you havent heard of it you should ...its a beautiful town ..very calm and regal with a river thru the heart. The sat market was in full steam and a we going to miss the french markets.!!! The cakes are back with a vengeance ..those spaniards have no skills to cook a cake but the french.........we are in the Boulangerie every day.Today we are inRoscoff and celebrated with a sunday lunch of duck and dauphinois of course it was splendid. Its lovely here to ..very coastal with gulls the size of pigs!! There is no campsite so we are sleeping for the
