Day 7 Saturday 9th July 2011 Miles to Moura

Hank (our trip leader) and Jo Verwoert joined us at 8 pm last night, having driven all the way from Melbourne in 2 days – pretty good going. Late departure today so we got to sleep in – a bit! It’s still very cold overnight but the days are lovely and sunny. Moura is a pretty little mining town where they are trying to encourage families of miners to live – they have banners up round town to this effect, e.g. “Miss your family? Move to Moura” or “Sick of driving? Move to Moura”. We went for a decent walk around town this afternoon, for the first time since we began the trip. On our way to Moura, we stopped at the beautiful Isla Gorge National Park, where we could view the gorge from the ridge. It would be interesting to go into the bottom of the gorge and look UP at the cliffs.
