Day 48

We are finally ready, we have all our gear packed and return our keys to the office but sneak back into the pool for one last dip.. so nice. And we are off, the stop for the night, irvinebank. The road starts off as a nice wide highway, then goes to a nice twisty road. I now regret not getting the power steering fixed. The speed limit is 80.. anymore than 50 and it is edgy in the corners. I guess we may be a bit top heavy. We make a few pit stops along the way, The cathedral Fig tree being stop #1, amazing to look at. I hope the edits turn out okay. Stop #2 was a crater, Mobo crater I do believe. We arrive at irvinebank at around 2:30pm and we see this awesome little setup called “Old things to look at” at the free thinker cabin. I nice little museum run by a local. He was very friendly and gave us a full tour and explained the history of the area, he even fired up his 1924 dodge that he daily drives, even his 14yo kid drives it around town. Amazing.. this truck

started quicker than our pajero.. what gives, was quality not supposed to go the other way. LOL. Today is a big day, State of origin is on the TV. The footy match between Queensland and NSW, Queensland of course won round 1 of 3. The pub we are drinking at is awesome I must add and the locals are amazing. We show up and get a free steak burger with all the fixings, then we only buy about 20 dollars in beer then the owner is buying us beer. We drank and played pool and swapped stories till about 12am then we took a cooler to the back of the bar and got to pick our own drinks for the next bit. The next bit being wild boar hunting with just a knife. Jesus these people are crazy. We load the dogs, Monty, Tic tac, and we cant remeber and cooler into the truck and away we go, 8 people and 3 dogs. The back tray of an ute is not to comfy. Lol. We ended up getting 1 pig, about 45kilos. Then wandered our way back home without any more luck. Rolling back into town around 5am or around there. All I can say is that was one hell of a night. A special Thanks to DJ, Steve, Shannon, jeff and all the locals for the great time.
