hello all
so we need to update you on what we have been doing. As usual we are fine and are just living the dream. missing you all alot at the moment, and, we can see why people only do the eight months thing, as although we are having the times of our lives, you do miss home, but we are soooooo excited for Fiji and Hawaii. cant wait.
So our last update we were cuddling koalas and mart was the new stevie erwin. but since then we have been to beautiful byron, surfers paradise, (not so beautiful), and now we are at martin and dawns (mart did his apprentiship with martin) house in Brisbane, well just out side of the city. they truly have mine and marts dream house. i got to say the houses make england look like we live in sheds. nutts. but we do have more people in greater london, than what they have in this whole country. double nutts!!!!!
So after coffs harbour, (where we broke down in the van, tell the storey in a min) we went to Byron bay. we have heard so mush about it, as being a must place
stay for backpackers, but we actually did not really know what to expect. It was my ideal place. we stayed right on the beach, for free, with loads of other campers, and we just loved it. incase you are worried about how clean we kept, we had free showers in the surf clubs, and even one day we had a shower at one of the beach showers, it was just after we got out of the water from surfing, and we said well we might as well get the shampoo and wash while we are here. funny. but lots of people do it to here.
The sea was so clear, the surf was great and the town was so busy and full of people from all over the world. Just a real nice chilled laid back vibe all about. We stayed there for 4 nights, but we want to stay there again on our way back down the coast. especially compared to surfers paradise, which we both did not like half as much. although it did rain the whole time we were in surfers, so that does have a big impact. It was just so different, as in the tacky
nightclubs and fast food places, and the beach was not half as nice. we did go to go out on the beer here but it poored down with so much rain, after we had our tea we decided to go back to our van as we just could not be assed to be wet and cold. We had already had hangovers to, as the night before we went out in Byron. that was class. A massive pub right on the beach had good food and then a band played. we got talking to another couple and had a real good laugh together. i think me and mart we singing all the way home, actually rapping and we had a "who can flip their flops the highest" competition. Mart won, but i won the rapping hands down. how silly are we. but we do not stop making each other laugh, so that is all we worry about. and we only started rapping as there was this busker rapper, who was an idiot rapping in the street to all the drunk people coming out of the pubs. I gave him a bit of the 1,2,1,2 hands on the mike all sike, rrriiiggghhhhtttt 1-2. ledge it was. A good idea though, as there were loads of guitar buskers, but this guy was free style rapping, and was really funny.
so we cannot wait to get back to byron, and maybe we wil not stop at surfers. who knows. although we do want to go to the wet and wild theme park there.
We are now staying with martin and dawn, and their cute 4 year old boy, patrick, in their amazing house near brisbane. We've been into the city one day, which was really nice. Imaculately clean, and really great for shopping, and some really nice gardens and a river going through the city. We've also been up Mt Coot-tha, which is near the city and offers pamaramic views of the city, and looks right out to the coast. It was really nice and pretty, and we walked on a nice track to some waterfalls, through the bush. We enjoyed the walk, but were scared of snakes and creatures, being the wimps that we are. We were also both so unfit, as the only exercise we do is a bit of surfing, and beer glass lifting.
Yesterday, us lads (mart, mart and patrick) all went in their swimming pool for an hour. The weather wasn't the best, but the pool was warm, and its so great that they have their own pool. its huge aswell, and well deep. We love the house so much. you would have to be a millionaire to own a place like this at home. Awesome. And mart and dawn have been amazing to us. We all get on great, and have a real laugh. its nice to sit and watch the likes of American Idol, and Eastenders aswell. Sad hey, but its a great comfort being in the nice house with great company. We even had a ROAST. God bless the english roast.ha ha

Bonjour!
Hey guys lovely to see your latest update and hear all the news from you. Glad Laura and I were not the only ones to have rain on our holidays!Ha ha! We spent last week in the not so sunny south of France with Laura's Grandad Jim and Ena. It was lovely to see them and see all the lovely sights in the region where they live. Ena's son Julian took us to visit every street of Montpelier and Nimes he was the most detailed tour guide ever! We also visited the coastline and several seaside towns but all in the drizzly rain which was a shame. Didn't speak much French but ate lots of French foods and enjoyed a daily 'crepe au nutella'!!. Flights went well for me even though both journeys were very bumpy during the descent. Had lots of laughs with Laura too so that was lovely. Nice to hear you are having a great time with Martin and Dawn, can't believe little Paddy is already 4!! Enjoy the sights of Brisbane and I hope the weather improves asap. Love to you both take care Helen xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
