Travelling further north we stopped at Rockhampton for a couple of days. We visited a tiny coastal town nearby called Emu Park, although after seeing the box jellyfish warnings neither of us were too happy to test out the water!

Leaving Rockhampton we headed for Townsville, our most northerly stop off before starting to travel inland. We were unlucky enough to have a few very dull and wet days but it was still warm enough to enjoy a visit to Cape Pallarenda conservation park where we found a little hidden beach.
