We have been out and about all over the place in the last few days.
On Thursday we went to the caravan and camping show in Brisbane. We did the park and ride thing and went via train from Zillmere into the city and changed trains to one which dropped us off at the showgrounds. We wandered about all over the place and my big purchase was a special cutter to go with my Fresheild. Graham got some towing mirrors (we discovered it doesn't matter if you don't need them, you have to have them by law) and an aerial for the caravan TV.
Friday we had a quiet day though Robbie managed to get a bunnings fix in. Graham and Robert replaced the tow hitch on our vehicle because we discovered ours was too low. It wasn't that I had all the things distributed wrongly in the caravan.
Went north to Eumundi Markets on Saturday and spent several great hours wandering about. Eumundi is where Kevin Rudd was bought up. The markets are very extensive and you can purchase just about anything there, or get any sort of alternative treatment you little heart desires.
One of
the first things we found was a proper german sausage stall which was selling very good sausages in a bun which we topped with sauerkraut, tomato sauce and mustard. Took me back to hot dogs in Copenhagen. I purchased some and have them in the freezer of the van.
We then wandered to Noosa heads and took in the beach and the photos of us all are taken on the beach there. After wandering up and down the street for a while we lunched at the Noosa Surf Club on the balcony. Robbie and I were very disappointed not to have won the seafood raffle.
On the way home we went to the Buderim ginger factory at Yandina. They have a very nice setup there and the shop is very well set out and colourful. We purchased two things a scanpan knife and some cat grass seeds not ginger. Robbie did that for us all.
Across the road from the ginger factory is a nut factory. This is where I had a lovely time. Macadamias, sunshine mix - it was lovely.
Sunday we went down to the Direct Factory Outlet near the Brisbane airport. Nice. Similar
to Harbour Town. I found a remainders bookshop where I got lots of books for $5 a pop. They are all less than 1 year since publication. I could spend bulk time there. The best book I got was one called "Potty" a one pot cook book by Clarissa of the two fat ladies fame.
The house is gorgeous I have included a few photographs here. We overlook the canal where Rob and I have been trying to catch fish and crabs. We have two crabs so far but the rest seem to be escapologists.
The weather is not due to get better until the end of the week (next Thursday) and rain is due again on Friday. Only to be expected, we came for the sun and bought the rain with us.
One of Barbara's new hibiscus has bloomed I have included a photo. These flowers are the size of bread and butter plates.
The bird is Limpy. Apparently be was hurt in a storm and they have been feeding him ever since they got here. He arrived ready for a meal and comes right up to the back door leting us know he is
hungry. I am now tolerated enought to be able to feed him.
