Every year Port Douglas has a 10 day festival called Carnivale (that's Carn-e-varl - don't get it wrong or you'll be corrected). Last weekend there was a big street parade which I missed because I was working, and there's been events on all week - most of which cost loads of money so I didn't go to them either. But today was a family fun day on the beach, so I wandered down (less than a block from home) to have a look. There was a sand castle building competition, camel rides, beach cricket, swimming, kite surfing lessons, and 3 guys leapt out of a helicpopter and parachuted to the beach, closely followed by the helicopter, a yacht race and outrigger canoe race. It was a beautiful day, so I took some photos of all the stuff going on to show you what a hard life I'm living...

Named because it looks like a croc in the water.
