may 6 awake to the exquisite sound of butcherbird. afternoon drive to woodford. good spruik as festival campers set up. later told by security to stop. went to opening ceremony. bought cotton drawstring pants from 'ozkat'. excellent.
may 7 went into woodford to try town as festival carpark forbidden. extraordinary result. thirty or more handwavers and dozens of cars stickered, brissie, sunshine coast and local. back to mooloolaba for shower and footy.
may 8 relaxed day, routine of coffee, spruik and cook.
may 9 drove to caloundra. no good spruik spot. on way back eureka flag flying from pole at house. they were on sidewalk talking to neighbors. stopped. he wanted flag. then at fish shop parkyn parade mooloolaba spit bloke behind counter who'd been really rude last time i was there was obnoxious again. he said 'we know who you are' and i realized why he had an attitude - didn't like flag. so i couldn't get fresh fish and chips, had tinned smoked mussels instead, good. went back to nicklin way, kawana where mark got large flag and we hoisted it. 20,000 a day pass there!!!
may 10 month flying. no real news. quiet spruik me old spot maroochy beach carpark. many stickers evident. more added. DHL tracking number no result. called carol. she said they'd had a holiday monday. the struggle continues.
may 11 very quiet. weather fine. stickers in singapore. sailing. light breeze. john said fly spinnaker for some practise. we did a dozen jibes. this meant we weren't in the race anymore. beautiful day. maroons thrashed nsw in state of origin.
