The journey to noosa was, once again uber long and uber boring but am totally getting used to it now - makes you appreciate how small and compact england is in comparison!!!
oooh, not so much of the boring on this journey actually - there was entertainment in the form of a crazy lady who kept walking up and down the bus chatting gibberish and going in and out of the toilet every five minutes. ah and there was the time when she was talking about jesus quite animatedly and turned and asked me what planet this was. then she decided to hang from the luggage rack and sing something about irish eyes smiling (???) at the top of her lungs. eep. but, like i say, quite entertaining none the less 😊
when we got to noosa we were taken on a mini tour which was cool - noosa is a quiet, posh, upmarket little seaside town. apparently its where a lot of aussies go on their hols. twas lovely 😊
the hostel we were staying in was on the outskirts in a place called sunshine beach which was really nice. sunshine beach has its own little parade
awww, how cute!
the koala's pretty sweet too :) of shops and cafes. and the beach was lovely to just wander along.
bumped into jenny from pizza express again! her and sarah were staying in the same place as me and sharna 😊 also rather randomly bumped into the scottish couple that i met on magnetic island. they shall remain known as the scottish couple. mainly because i can't remember their names... :s
booked to go to australia zoo on saturday with jenny and sarah. australia zoo is where steve irwin (yes, that's right, the crazy crocodile hunter dude) works. tres exciting!!
went for a wander and found the most amazing nouveau cuisine sushi restaurant, have never ever tasted food that good before! it was soooooo good! actually ended up eating there every night that i was actually in noosa 😊 hehe.
after an uber early night (bit of a trend in noosa i found!) me and sharna got up the next day and went on the coastal walk which takes you all the way from sunshine beach, through noosa national park and out into the centre of noosa. in all it took us about 2 hours and it was a really nice walk, some
i want one!
wonder if it'll fit in the suitcase... fantastic views (made up for the fact that it was bloody hard work at times!! hehe). oooh, at one point you actually have to walk on a nudist beach which was amusing to say the least! there weren't actually that many people there, but there were a few blokes sitting on the rocks with *ahem* a lack of clothing going on. can't imagine that would be overly comfortable...?!!
had a bit of a nosey around noosa town centre, had lunch etc etc, deduced that everything in noosa was very expensive and headed back to the hostel! was knackered so went and got my sushi then watched a film with sharna, sam and jake (really nice english couple that we were sharing a room with).
next morning me, jenny, sarah, the scottish couple and sam and jake all went to the zoo 😊 😊 😊 the bus there was free which was cool and it only took an hour, during which time they played some of the crocodile hunter film - hilariously bad 😊 still, totally got everyone excited.
alas. steve irwin did not make an appearance in our zoo trip 😞 😞 😞 needless to say everyone
was way disappointed and it kinda tainted the day a little. aw well! a good day was had none the less although i would have to say that melbourne zoo was a lot better. in my humble opinion 😊
spent the day with jenny and sarah just wandering around the zoo. we petted koalas and kangaroos 😊 yay! was sooo cool! the roos were just hopping around the place, they were so tame.
saw the oldest tortoise in the world too. she's 174 and called harriet 😊 (just so ya know!) in the guiness book of records and everything! totally huge tortoise too 😊
in australia zoo they have a 5000 seat stadium called the crocoseum which is where they have shows. we saw a tiger show, a snake show, a bird show and a croc show, all good fun 😊 apparently we were on the big screen tv thing too but we were too busy chatting to notice, lol 😊 (don't believe that one for a second!! hehe.)
you could tell that everyone was waiting for steve irwin to come out when the croc show started and when he didn't a few people actually left!!!
steve irwin
its not a cardboard cut out! promise!!! i guess that's the reason that a lot of people bother coming to the zoo... (obviously not the reason i went... *cough cough* hehe.)
so yeah, by the end of the day i was totally animaled out - no more zoos for me for a while methinks!!
got back to the hostel and was so so tired that i obviously had to get sushi again 😊 hehe. obsession!! really sweet though - the girl who bagged my order put a lollipop in with it and a note saying "have a nice holiday" 😊 how sweet is that!! its really nice when people do stuff like that - totally makes your day 😊
