Pretty small, but they make a lot of noise at night. Monday was our last day in Mudgeeraba before we’d have to keep moving up the east coast. We used it to pack up our bags, and clean up Graham and Lorna’s house before heading out. It’s only right to have them return from their trip to a clean house. Lol That night we watched “The Dish”, another Australian movie suggestion from Graham. It’s about Australia’s vital role regarding the televised moon walk of Apollo 11, and the drama that unfolded behind the scenes. It starred Sam Neil, and Hillary and I both thought it was a great movie! Really funny too! We were repeating lines for days to come. Lol
Tuesday we went down Surfers Paradise to catch the Greyhound bus. After a bit of driving, we arrived in Noosa Heads. It was a nice little town. Like others before it, it was built up along the edge of the water, but Noosa had a protected park great for hiking and walks. It was a hilly town too. Lol That night we walked to the local movie theatre and saw Watchmen. I really enjoyed it, and Hillary liked it.
Wednesday was our big day, and one that Hillary will

Can't remember which school this was, but it was along the bus ride. remember for years to come… our trip to the Australia Zoo! We were going to visit it from Brisbane, but Graham had mentioned that if we where already going up the coast, might as well wait until Noosa since it was closer. It’s nice having someone in the know. Lol Anyways, this was Steve Irwin’s zoo and is now run by his wife. It was built on his family’s property, and many of the animals, like most of the crocodiles, were ones that he had caught personally! Hillary absolutely loved this zoo. She admired it for how well many of the animals seemed to have been kept and treated. The animals looked to have lots of room and space to move around, and I swear the Cassowaries eat better than we do. Lol
One of the best features of the zoo was the Crocoseum. Steve made this big coliseum for the crocodile shows, but constructed it in a way where crocodiles wouldn’t be forced to go into the show if they didn’t want to. The crocs were kept in separate areas in the back, and when the show would start, the gate would open. If the croc was curious
Surfers Paradise
A very windy day with sand blowing everywhere. about what was going on (and the smell of food), it’d swim out to the show. If not, it’d just stay put. We really appreciated that. One thing that totally amazed us was the tiger show. The tigers were still fairly young, but the keepers were right in there playing with them like big cats. I swear that at one point I thought the female keeper in there was about to be eaten! Lol We did so much that day, so be sure to check out the pictures because it’d take too long to try and describe it all. Lol
That night we rested up and watched Superman Returns on my computer. We ended up taking a little walk down to the water, but not much was happening considering it was a Wednesday night. We called it a night fairly early, since the next day we’d be on the bus again to go to our next destination!
