Cairns to South Mission Beach

This entry is my wrap-up for this particular trip. All of the Peugeot people enjoyed a relaxing few days in Cairns, sightseeing, sitting around and going out for dinner. Suddenly we were all going our separate ways, although there was still a small nucleus travelling back to Victoria, Tasmania and WA initially together, and splitting off along the road. Nigel and I headed for South Mission Beach and 3 weeks of doing not very much at all. I’ve included a few photos from that time here – the captions tell their stories.

Murray Falls is not far from Tully. Like everywhere else around Tully, it was severely affected by Cyclone Yasi. Unfortunately this closed the walking track to the top of the falls, but it was impressive enough from below.

The Edward Kennedy Track is where we always walked every day. It has been landslide affected but you can still walk it if you scrabble around the rocks at low tide, and climb down a knotted rope at the southern end!
