Watching the Superbowl in the back room of a brewery in cairns from about 10am - v.surreal but quality!Hey,
So i did the great barrier reef today! It was pouring down again when we boarded the boat but it didn't rain too much throughout the day and the water was really warm and not too choppy. I did loadsa snorkelling - unfortunately didn't see any sharks or the turtle that is apparently always there! But did see loadsa cool bright coloured fish, just like you see in photos and finding nemo apparently - the guides kept banging on about that! I also did an introductory dive which was really cool. It lasted for about 20 mins and we went down quite far and saw loads more cool stuff - it was mainly cool looking fish and coral everywhere tho - i really enjoyed the sensation of diving tho! We also had a talk from a marine biologist and went on a glass bottomed boat - i tried to take some photos but they're not the best! Breakfast and lunch were included and pretty nice and we even had wine and cheese and biscuits on the journey back to land - v.posh! It was a pretty cool day anyway and i've just booked a flight to sydney because buses

The boat for the reef trip and trains aren't running out of cairns at all for the foreseeable future and I had a chat with a greyhound bus driver earlier on the street and he said I had no chance leaving anytime soon and that I should fly! So I am doing and am really looking forward to seeing the opera house and harbour bridge and all that. So i'll update you from there in a few days!
