Amy looking depressed!

Go Goonie Go!

Today was a race against time to drive from one end of the island to the other in time for our ferry at 3.30 pm....

Ok so the itinary had Lake Wabby and Eli Creek planned for us today - it wasnt happening. We woke up hungover with everything left out from the night before - all our pots and pans...food etc...it was pouring down with rain so we literally threw everything in the car and drove as far as we could until the tide came up at 9.30 am, then we worked out that we wouldnt make the ferry if we waited until the tide went out at 1pm so we had no choice but to drive on an inland route - again which we had no insurance for, and, which we later discovered was a 'rough track which was only for experienced 4wd proffesionals'. We drove on the worst roads, it was mental! We drove over rivers, at one point we nearly bumped the car onto its side. Chris managed the inland track like a true professional...I was just grateful it wasnt me driving this time. We were all clapping and singing

Our morning stop at a campsite..
along to music loudly! Awsome adventure! We got to Happy Valley for 1pm in perfect time. Chris was exhausted so I took over the beach driving.

We passed our first dingo on the beach. We stopped to take photos and called the dingo over to the car. It looked so cute but I did wind my window up pretty sharpish - Amy is still laughing about it!

We got to the ferry 5 minutes after it was due to leave and we thought it was sailing off into the distance but realised with some relief that it was coming towards us.

The petrol tank was empty at this point and when we finally made it back to the camp shed for the car check the mechanic was suprised at how much petrol we had used!! Hm!!

That night we had a gorgeous free sausage sizzle at the hostel and the lovely hostel lady gave me a free carton of Banrock Station wine because she said I looked like I needed it!

We all met up again that night after having a hot shower and had a game of poker!

Went to bed warm and
Dingo!Dingo!Dingo!

Aw cute!
happy and thankful for a soft bed.
