Squirt..is that you....???

hey all, well i'll get to the having no money and coming home bit in a minute but first we thought we may as well make the most of being up here...so we went on some trips ...on subday we went to the great barrier reef!! how exciting...we went in an old pearling boat..we thought it had more character than a huge flash yacht (nothing to do with the expense!!)...we sailed out and before we knew it (after a shark spotting that turned into a dolphin..they are so similar!!)we were at our dive spot...well i just went snorkelling but you know what i mean... i started getting abit nervous when we stopped as the waves are quite big in the open ocean...but we had our snorkel talk and then we were set up with all the gear didnt relise it was so complicated...had flippers and everything!! We also opted for wet suits as apparently they make you float like a cork...and you know what... they do ...did look like somesort of action hero..not sure which one and there was a slight worry as whether the small size would zip up over my thigh...but i guess they are suppoed to be tight fitting!! and im sure you are supposed to have a permenent wedgy all day!!! Anyway...mask on...flippers on...one step out and thats it...splash!! i was in... a bit disorreintated and breathing heavily but thumb up i was ok nats turn next...same idea really...splash...but unfortunatly she didnt feel any better after being in the water a little while and went up on the boat..later i found out the man took her out on the rubber ring...anyway meanwhile in the deep blue sea...i just gestered to someone else off the boat..'my swimming buddys gone can i be yours?' luckily she said yes... it just ment when we were swimming round we kept looking for each other ...so there i was flippering away...quite a skill to it and just looking down into the coral with all the fish all sorts of sizes and colours and shapes and the corals realy close to the surface so you can almost touch it (your not supposed to though!!)..after just a few mins,,there he was... a sea turtle!! im not sure if he was Squirt..but im thinking squirt must have grown since the film nemo came out...so maybe just maybe that made my day anyway and after a few more splishes and splashes i headed back to the boat and i saw a big grey ray!! that was cool ...Back on the boat we had lunch and then another dive at upulo cay..a random sandy island in the middle of nowhere..not as many fish here but still amazing ..once i'd started going wrinkly it was time to head back on the boat for wine and nibbles and a very choppy ride back...wasnt sick though luckily . we had a lovely day and really enjoyed it...i think its cos im a water star sign...i'm supposed to love the ocean...you can just stick your head under and glide along and everythings so peaceful...the fish and the clams and the sea cucumbers!! I loved it
We'd done the reef the rainforest was next..we went up to Cape Tribulation to see the daintree rainforest (my dad says thats why they film im a celebrity!!)...we hadnt confirmed what we were doing on the trip so when we found out we were doing a crocodile cruise it was just an added bonus...i was convinced it was going to be a white water rafting thing we'd booked cos the company was called foaming fury!! luckily it was the cape tripulation trip though!!..anyway yeh so we got a cruise down the river...a walk in the rainforest...and a look at a gorge..all lovely really, quite a quick day but we had a nice time.
So thats what we've been up to..oh yes and phone calls home because we have no money and no job!! well it was going to happen one day wasnt it...and that day has come...so we've spent the morning desperatly trying to get a flight home in time for vickys wedding...unfortunalty we just havnt got the luck..we'll be home soon but not in time for the wedding ...we are planning on coming back out though...september time...so if anyone would like to start saving..your more than welcome ...so far its looking like friday for a flight!! Cant believe it really!! really looking forward to seeing everyone though...i havnt changed i dont think though..no numerous pieces of wooden jewellery, no blonde dreadlocks and i dont wear long skirts and headscarves!! my tans not even good either!!! but i have a head full of memories to bring back..and about 1000 photos...get ready for the slide shows everyone!!!
