Mothers day in Darwin
My breaky setting, see the pool in the back ground Well it was mothers day today and though I wasn't with any of the kids, I had a lovely day and received lots of very lovely phone calls, facetime calls and messages. Very nice! Miss everyone so it's wonderful to have such beautiful calls etc!
We started the day with a nice breaky by the pool at the bistro here. Such a beautiful setting! After breaky we moved the Bago! We had chatted to the reception here about our location, we were out in the open a fair bit and there were shadier spots, especially with the pretty intense afternoon sun. We got the go ahead and Rob kindly set about moving us. It all went pretty well, aside for a minor 'incident', lets say
'#OMGtheawningstilldown!' But all's well that ends well and this site is definitely better!
As it was Mothers Day I got to pick what to do. I chose a movie! Haven't had popcorn and icecream since we left home! So we went to Darwins cinema (very posh here, you dont have to put your own seat down!) and saw "A Royal Night Out". It was a super movie, loved it! It's set on VE day
Darwin
Boats driving along the streets in London and the royal sisters hit the town. Go and see it if you can its better than you'd think! And who knows, it MAY be true story!
Another hour spent lazing around the pool later in the day. Nice! Its still super hot here, about 24 degrees overnight and 33 during the day.Very nice!
This evening we went to the famous Mindle sunset markets. What a fabulous place. Beautiful setting and the whole of Darwin comes out to watch the sun set. There's some terrific stuff for sale at the markets and a very eclectic mix. All types of foods to buy and we fell for a bit of junk food! Oh well you get that! There was a crazy fire eater show, he was fabulous! Got a great vid, but can't upload videos unfortunately.
Well time to sign off! Happy mothers day to all the wonderful mums!
