main stadium at home bush, home of olympic games 2000!! fantastic! ;-)
Last few days in Sydney

On Wednesday 17th, I decided to go and see the Olympic park, I got on a train and managed to find it all by myself!! It was an amazing place, like a little oasis in the middle of nowhere, with fountains, statues and massive stadiums! I had a wonder round before deciding to have a tour around Telstra stadium. I turned up at 2, and there was only me and one other chap. But the tour guide was brilliant, we started off in a big buggy type thing and she drove us round the park and underneath the stadium, where we went through the tunnel and they projected the highlights of the games on to the side of the wall, there was smoke and it was all quite dramatic!! we than got out and watched a short film of how the stadium was used etc. we got to go into the coca cola box and into the place where the commentators and video ref sits for rugby games! We then went into the warm up and changing rooms, (she showed us Englands changing room for the 2003 world cup final and where all the players

sat…. yes, I did sit in Jonny’s seat!!)
Then she put some music of cheering and crowd noise and I walked through the tunnel to the stadium.. it was amazing! The podium was placed in front of the pitch and so of course I had to have some photos standing on it! He he!
After the tour I had another wonder, and got ‘gwarky’ a cool Australian kangaroo, so hes gunna be my travelling buddy!
I got the train back home and got to wake up about 5 o clock, me and nat were chilling, watching TV and decided to have a glass of wine! We got chatting to a few others and decided to play some drinking games! They all went and bought a box of goon each and so while everyone was sitting quietly trying to watch ‘house’ us 6 were sat in a circle right in the middle playing noisy games!! It was really funny!! Me, Nat, Nick (an Irish guy) and Mark (whose nan lives next door my nanny!!) went out to watch the footy, England V Russia, despite the score, it was a fun night. And we got to wear our new England shirts!

next day we just chilled out and that evening we went down to the side bar for a couple of drinks with Nats roommates.
The next day, Friday 19th, Nat and I went to Bondi beach, it’s a nice beach, white sand. Surf wasn’t that good tho and it gets cold pretty early at the moment, (by 3 o clock I get goose pimples!!) So we got a bus back and got ready for the evening. We were chilling out, watching telly and decided we were a bit bored of Sydney, me and nat were planning to spend a week or so at bondi or manly beach, but Nick then told us he had hired a camper van and was heading up to cairns the next day, Nat and I jumped at the chance so it was decided the next morning we would head off!!
We celebrated our last nite in style! My german roommate, Henning, joined us as well as a few others and we went to the bar downstairs, then to a cool Irish pub, scruffy murphys! We danced there till about 4 before going back to bed!!
