Valeria VineI am sometimes struck by just how beautiful it is.


Cooled to the bone stillness, body milted
and shed of the day's slough

weighing our clothes to the floor.

Does a tongue start behind the teeth
and end somewhere beetween the thighs,

the whole parched length of it?

feel the inside of you dry up along
the outside of me. I stand away

to remember your sighing figure,

lolling in the sleep's spacious mouth
that is neither wet not dry.
