Awoke to the sounds of the waves and the birds on the lake, very relaxing. As we were not driving anywhere, we took the morning easy, starting with scrambled eggs and bacon, the only way to start the day! Ben was off on the Kayak and then off to the surf beach, I think he is in training for a Triathlon! He is also studing a lot, but I think that is just so he doesn't have to listen to our boring talk about the weather and where to next!!
Hayden, Pete and I head off on our bikes, and yes I get to use my bike that I have had for over 12 months for the first time! And I still remember how to ride. We rode around the lake on the boardwalk and ended up at the other end of the surf beach which was amazing. The water is crystal clear and so blue and the sand incredibly clean and white, we don't need to go to Thailand or anywhere for beautiful beaches, they are right here. We spend some time in the water and walking the beach and then rode back. Had a very lazy day, and
enjoyed the peace of our campsite. Pete and I rode into Eden to get a bit of shopping, well Pete managed the big hill, I took the bike for a walk for half of the ride!!
We have decided that Shazza has a mind of her own! Get back from shopping, and now the fridge is working, after a few choice swear words that I wont repeat, I reloaded the fridge and crossed my fingers that it would continue working. Definitely is a female motorhome, that's all I can say!!! B.....
The Scrabble championship continued, this time with Hayden the winner, and Ben wanting to give up as it was late and we were all worn out by our hard day!
Now the plan on Monday morning was go and get the fridge fixed and then head off ~ well the fridge was still working so we took off (well that indicates fast, but it was at holiday pace!) but we are starting to work like an oiled machine with the pack up and unpack. Called in to a gas shop but the man said "if it's not broke, don't fix it" so we all have our
fingers crossed and hope that it keeps going.
The drive to Ulladulla was pretty uneventful, stopped in Durass for a brief moment but apparently the beach was a bit too windy (apparently I slept through that stop) and we couldn't get a campsite there so we kept going. Shazza certainly lets us know when she has had enough giving the driver a hard time with her gas usage and transmission oil light, but no major drama's this time.
We came to a great caravan park in Ulladulla which has its own little private beach that looks great for snorkelling. We set up in record time and this time we have power and water, all mod cons!! Had dinner and then walked into town, again on the hunt for ice cream. Pete determined that there would be a cold rock store, not so, but we did find an Italian restaurant that served great Gelati bowls, so all were happy.
Another day comes to an end, and just as we were all going to bed, we hear a noise and Hayden finds a possum raiding our bin for apple cores!! We hand over the apple core and all fall
exhausted into bed.
