Sydney Opera House
A bit rubbish up really close but looks good when you move away We flew from Hong Kong overnight and arrived in Sydney and started doing the tourist thing straight away. Taking an open top bus tour round the city we saw everything Sydney had to offer... buildings, bars famous landmarks. We went to have a look at that weird shaped building that has copied off the toblerone advert (think it was the Opera house), and we saw and walked over the harvour bridge. It was cloudy in Sydney so we didn't put any sun tan lotion on... so ended up burning a bit. It is a nice place and there's loads to do- might end up popping back if we go that far down again.
We saw Bondi beach and went to the Blue Mountains which is bloody scenic. Trees everywhere. We took a tour bus up to the Blue Mountains that was driven by Rain Man... he was amazing, he knew everything about everywhere we went and talked the whole way about the history of the place, urban legends and even how all the trees in the rainforests regenerate after bush fires. There was quite a lot of damage to some of the forest from fires and even parts that had
Blue Mountains
Nice national park, makes the Lake District look a bit gash been completely destroyed were growing back quickly.
The bets bit though has got to be the zoo where there were Kangaroos walking around waiting to be fed by us. Didn't know that they ate ice cream cones in the wild but apparently they love ice cream cones filled with rabbit food. When we got back to the hotel bar Sean celebrated the fact that we'd seen a Kangaroo by eating one for tea. Kangaroo steak is just like normal steak apart from it makes you feel more guilty having just stroked one.
Verdict on Sydney
Nice place, wouldn't mind going back when its sunny and checking out the night life (probably have to beat the sheilas off with a massive stick)
