Hi all!
Well im finally here safe and sound and Sydney is fabulous!
Flights were fine although my plane was late leaving Heathrow by an hour which meant that by the time we got to Hong Kong, rather than having a 2 hour respite, it was straight onto the next plane to Sydney with 1/2 an hour to spare - so lets just say my ass was slightly numb by the time i got to Sydney!
I arrived at Sydney at approx 9pm (although it is a bit of a blurr to me now) and jumped on the shuttle bus to the hostel which is fabulous! I checked in dazed and confused and went straight to the room which im sharing with 3 others one of which was in bed asleep. I dumped my stuff and went and had a nice shower coz i didn't really know what else to do lol! then i headed down to reception to get a phone card and called Mr Jimbob which was great to speak to him but also very very emotional! I finally went to bed about 12midnight and woke up at 5am! not being able to get back to sleep
coz my body clock is all over the place (and because the glorious sunshine and clear blue sky was shining through the window - sorry had to tell you that bit) i got up at 7 and decided to join a group from the hostel ona beach walk which was fabulous! we caught the bus down to Coogee beach and walked from there to Bondi Beach (total of 6 miles) it was soooooo beautiful - we were keeping our eyes out for dolphins and wales along the way but unfortunately didn't spot any but we did see the most crazy house i've ever seen in all my life! An old local guy living near bondi beach decided to make his own house in the cliff edge, out of scrap bits, at bondi beach and has been living there for 2 years! it was amazing and we even got chance to meet him coz he popped his head out as we were having a peek! very nice guy!
We arrived back at the hostel around 5.30pm for our free beer in the bar and a bite to eat. then we all headed back to our rooms for a much deserved snooze
after our mission walk! I headed back down to the bar around 9 for a couple of drinks but was very well behaved and only stayed a couple of hours coz ive had to be up early today to check out of the hostel.
so the next step for me is to head to the Travelodge today to check in and wait to be picked up at 7am Sunday for the trip to begin!
I"ve already met so many people and heard their travel stories so i can't wait to start mine!
I hope all is well back home, missing everyone heaps and i will be in touch soon

hey glad to see u arrived safely, the beach looks fab and looks like ur making friends already, cant wait to hear how the trip is going x
